With a dilapidated house in Ilijaš, where abandoned dogs can often be found is a conclusion of a creepy scene that points to the sadistic killing of animals. Members of the Association attempted to help puppies but it was too late
Violence against animals in Bosnia and Herzegovina is nothing new but day in a day, increasingly shocking forms of killing and abuse of animals appear. One such happened in Ilijash, where, as a member of the Association for Protection of the Pawcahontas animal protection, one of the abandoned houses became a “landfill” for unwanted dogs, writes Liberation.
Namely, associates of the Association have encountered a terrible scene – puppies whose paws and muzzles are tied with adhesive tape and are left to suffer who knows how much, without the possibility of moving or advertising.
– Through the alert in our Inbox, we learned that the abandoned house in Ilijaš became a new place to dispose of dogs. At first, we hoped the puppies were still alive and we prayed to the urgent dismissal as we find a permanent solution. Unfortunately, we soon found out that they were already dying – bound, abandoned and left to die in pain. They only had about three months. However, we managed to save a frightened hunting dog from the same location, which we have given the name Franco, and whoever survived, it was stated from the Pawcahontas association that deals with the protection of endangered animals in BiH, Serbia and Croatia.
They also expressed deep regret due to this and such cases and warned of the huge representation of animal abuse:
– The situation on the field is alarming. We encounter creepy cases of neglect, abuse and killing dogs – all this as a result of irresponsible owners and unregulated breeders. Although the Law on Pet Protection and Holding exists, unfortunately, the state does not implement it, which leads to an increasingly deeper crisis that the most people feel the innocent animals, said.
Dogs are bound and left to die
– We invite all citizens to remain human, to report abuse and to remember – leaving, poisoning, or, as in this case, brutal and heartless dog murder is a criminal offense and must be sanctioned, added.
In the FBiH abuse or killing animals (criminal offenses under Article 318 of the FBiH) is punishable by a fine or imprisonment to just 6 months. In the RS, according to Article 390 of the RS Criminal Code, one who is difficult to abuse, causes unnecessary suffering or kills an animal, may be punished by a fine or imprisonment for up to 2 years.
The Australian prisoner study revealed that 43% of mass murderers between 1988. and 2012. had a history of animal abuse. Analysis of the prisoner shows that more than 70% of the perpetrators of animal abuse commits at least another crime, and the violence against people in a review of different countries, in as many as 97.9% of cases have been identified between animal abuse and violence against people.
If the animal violence is allowed to pass unpunished – it is clear what is next.
