US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, is part of the US delegation meeting with Ukrainian officials in Geneva, CNN reporter Jennifer Hansler reports.
Kushner has at times played a key role in US diplomacy in the Middle East and other regions during Trump’s first and second terms.
The Trump administration has been scrambling to advance a deal to end the war in Ukraine in the weeks since the Gaza ceasefire deal, which Kushner also helped broker.
The delegation is led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Other members include Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll, State Department Counsel Mike Needham, NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Alexis Grynkewich, Deputy National Security Adviser Andy Baker and the top US diplomat in Ukraine, Julie Davis.
