Leon Jakirović, the son of the former Bosnia and Herzegovina national team member and the current English Hull coach Sergej Jakirović, has become a new footballer for the Italian giants Inter from Milan.
The 18-year-old stopper has played for the junior national team of Croatia until now, and he comes to Inter from Dinamo Zagreb.
The transfer is worth more than four million euros, with bonuses included in the deal.
Sports director of Dinamo Dario Dabac confirmed that the desire of the player and his family was to continue his career in Milan.
As he stated, Dinamo signed a new contract with Jakirović in the spring and planned his development through the B team, with the possibility of joining the first team.
However, that vision did not fully meet the expectations of the player’s environment, so a decision was made to change the environment.
In Dinamo, they believe that the agreement reached is the best option for the club at the given moment.
The Zagreb club thanked Jakirović for his contribution so far and wished him success, health and progress in his professional career.
In Inter, it is expected that Jakirović will play for the U-23 selection in the initial phase.
The signing of the contract was attended by his father Sergej Jakirović and manager Ivica Džidić, while director Giuseppe Beppe Marotta was among those present on behalf of Inter.
