The Embassy of Italy in Bosnia and Herzegovina today was marked by the Italian Sports organization in the Olympic Museum in Sarajevo, a dedicated promotion of the winter Olympic Games and Mediterranean games in Tarant, with the message that sports connects the states and nurtures dialogue.
Senka Ibrišimbegović, director of the Public Institution City Museums in the framework that the Olympic Museum, emphasized that cooperation with the Italian Government and the Embassy in BiH has existed for many years and to promote the Italian sports day together.
It noted that the promotion of the winter Olympics was planned within today’s event that will be held next year in Italy.
– Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo are winter Olympic Games 2026. Those Olympic Museum, together with the Italian Embassy in BiH, promotes a film that will be able to see in our museum – Ibrišimbegović explained.
She reminded that Sarajevo, as an Olympic city, is still inheritance of many Olympic heritage, including the Olympic museum that nurtures the memory of that great event for the BiH capital.
Ambassador of Italy in BiH, Sarah Eti Castellani explained that the day of Italian sports is an annual initiative organized by the Italy’s Foreign Affairs, but this year with special emphasis on the Olympics.
– Since we had Olympic Games in Sarajevo in 1984. years, we thought it would be nice to be in the Olympic Museum tonight and together to organize this event. – said Castellani.
She emphasized that we are quite complicated to organize these Olympic Games in Italy because they are held in different locations, from Milan and Cortine to other surrounding areas.
However, she also pointed out that they were very proud and enthusiastic.
“I’m sure we’ll be proud of our Olympics in the future, as you are in yours,” she added.
The Italian Ambassador has still said that the best way to promote one state through sports is because it means a dialogue.
– Sport is a good tool for promoting bilateral relations between BiH and Italy, dialogue between people and the value of sports, because sports speaks universal tongue – she concluded.
The video “People of” shows the connection between communities and territories involved in the Milano-Cortina winter Olympics, placing the people and the Olympic values of solidarity and community.
This year’s edition of the Italian Sports Day is dedicated to the topic “Mountains and the sea”, which symbolically connects two major international events whose house will be Italy next year: Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina and Mediterranean games in Tarant.
The initiative is part of the I Italian Ministry of Foreign Ministry aimed at the promotion of sports as a means of cultural diplomacy and economic growth drivers.
With exports of sports equipment worth 4.7 billion euros, Italy is one of the world’s top exportants and takes second place in Europe.
