During the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, police officers in Milan will be entitled to free use of regional rail transport.
As announced, the measure refers to zones Mi1-Mi3 within the System of Tariff Integrated Transport of the Milan Mobility Area (STIBM), and was adopted on the basis of a resolution approved by the Regional Council.
Free transport will be provided to members of the Carabinieri, the Financial Police and the State Police, including officers coming from other parts of Italy.
This benefit will be valid from February 3 to 28 during the Olympic Games, and from March 2 to 15 during the Paralympic Games, Milano Today reports.
One of the city councilors pointed out that this decision represents an important step and an indicator of how important the safety of its citizens is to the Lombardy region.
