At least two Palestinians were killed by Israeli tank fire in the Tal as-Sultan neighborhood, west of Rafah in southern Gaza, Civil Defense officials of the enclave told Al Jazeera.
The Israeli military said it was investigating the report of the attack, Reuters news agency reported on Thursday.
The attack comes after Israel and Hamas agreed to a ceasefire that took effect on Sunday.
The initial phase is slated to last six weeks and include a limited prisoner-for-prisoner exchange, a partial withdrawal of Israeli troops in Gaza and an influx of aid into the enclave.
