Israel’s government voted to approve a ceasefire and hostage release deal with Hamas, after the security cabinet gave its blessing to the deal on Friday.
The government did not immediately issue a statement on the vote, and Israeli media reported that 24 ministers voted in favor of the agreement, while eight were against.
The deal is set to take effect on Sunday. Now that the government has approved the deal, opponents of the deal can bring a case to the High Court of Justice, although the court is unlikely to intervene.
