The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) attacked Hamas targets in central Gaza after a ceasefire was agreed but did not come into force.
According to the military statement, the IDF carried out artillery shelling and drone strikes against targets in northern and central Gaza.
“The IDF continues its attacks on terrorist targets in the Gaza Strip,” the statement said.
The truce was supposed to take effect, but it was delayed because Hamas did not hand over the names of the prisoners it was supposed to release.
