Iran’s chief negotiator: We no longer take anyone’s word for it

Iran’s chief negotiator Mohamad Baker Kalibaf said today (May 29) that Tehran does not believe in guarantees or words, but will judge by actions, adding that Iran will not act unless the other side does so first.

The United States and Iran reached an agreement on Thursday to extend the ceasefire and lift restrictions on shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, sources told Reuters.

US President Donald Trump has said he has yet to approve the deal, and Iranian state media say it has not been finalized.
