Working meeting of representatives of the Food Safety of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Hosts from INZ was held at the Zenica (INZ) Institute of Health and Food and Host of the Food Safety Agency today.
The goal was to define the key elements of the Joint Conference, which will be marked in Bosnia and Herzegovina in Bosnia and Herzegovina. October, World Food Day.
The delegation of the Agency was led by Dr. Sci. Sanin Tankovic, while the host was the meeting director, dr. Sci. Muamer Mandra, both with the closest associates.
Conference in October
This meeting marks the beginning of more intense preparations for one of the most important events in the field of public health and food safety, which we join the global initiative under the auspices of the United Nations Food Organization (FAO).
The planned conference will aim to gather experts, representatives of state and entity institutions, the academic community, educational institutions and representatives of civil society in order to jointly strengthen the importance of healthy, available and safe food for all citizens.
During the meeting, the concept and objectives of the conference were defined – including risk control, the role of inspection and foods in crisis and institutions cooperating with BiH in the field of food safety.
Participants emphasized the importance of many years of cooperation between the Food Safety Agency and the Institute for Health and Food Food Zenica, which is continuously improving and obtained new elements.
These two institutions have previously jointly realized a series of projects and professional workshops, including campaigns on proper grocery products, monitoring contaminants and pesticides in food, and the development of food prevention guidelines.
Planned a series of accompanying activities
Mandra emphasized that the Institute, as an institution with multi-business experience in public health, seeks to continuously be a platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange and the promotion of best practices in the field of health and safety.
He expressed special satisfaction with the fact that the Agency and this year will be a key partner in celebrating the World Food Day, confirming its role of leaders in the regulation of food safety at the state level.
Tankovic pointed out that World Food Day is an opportunity to once again point out to the need for multisectoral cooperation, and for the responsibility of all actors – from manufacturers to end consumers.
“Joint events such as this conference are extremely important to strengthen citizens’ trust in the food control system, but also to improve the knowledge of experts who work in the field every day,” Tanković added.
At the end of the meeting, the basic steps in the further preparation of the conference, including the Program Proposal, the identification of potential lecturers and topic session holders, and the proposal of promotional activities that will follow the event.
Working meeting in Zenica once again confirmed that institutions such as the BiH Food Safety Agency and INZ play a key role in preserving citizen health, and that through cooperation, education and proactive measures can contribute to safer and healthier society.
