The IGTC 2025 marked a significant milestone because Indonesia first presented a comprehensive cultural package within the University Environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The event included interactive performances of Angklung music, traditional dances, a practical workshop batika led by the famous Indonesian expert for Batik, Ms. Avy Loftus, and an authentic Indonesian cuisine.
In his introductory speech, N.E. Manahan MP Sititopul, the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasized the importance of events.
“This initiative is not just the presentation of the riches of Indonesian cultural heritage, but also the opening of the cooperation in education and tourism. We set the foundations for long-term friendship and mutual understanding between our two nations,” Ambassador Sititpool.
Participants showed huge enthusiasm, especially during the Batik workshop, where many have experienced this artistic form that UNESCO was recognized for the first time.
“This is the first time I learn about Batik. It is really incredible to experience this first-hand technique from the Indonesian expert,” he shared a student from the Burch International University.
Angklung performance and traditional dances have also left a deep impression on the present.
The “Indonesia Goes to Campus” is up to the success of the previous “Indonesia Weekend” festivals, with a stronger focus on the younger generation engagement. The event also served as a platform for data collection for the IMIJA INDONESIA survey in 2025. year, in accordance with the strategic diplomatic goals of Indonesia.
