Rescue operations are underway to find more than 100 missing.
Members of the Indian Army, the state forces for response to disasters (SDRF) and local police have so far saved 150 people, despite non-relentless rain and uneven terrain that interferes with operations.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami remained on Wednesday morning on site. He reviewed the current rescue operations and performed an air overview of the villages of Dharali, which is the hardest affected, and surrounding areas.
He also chaired a meeting for emergencies at the Central Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in Dehradun. Dhami then visited the victims of a disaster in the PWD inn in Uttarkashi and convinced them that their missing relatives would be quickly saved.
Speaking for journalists, the Chief Minister said: “About 160 police officers were engaged in rescue operations. The army helicopters are also ready. As soon as the weather is used in rescue operations,” Ani news agency.
Earlier in the morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked to the main minister of Utakhandand to assess the situation and review the answers. After the call, Dhami posted on social networks: “Sincere gratitude to the Holy Prime Minister on providing any possible help.”
