Before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Wednesday, October 29, a plea hearing is scheduled for the suspended president of that court, Ranko Debevac, the former director of the Intelligence and Security Agency (OSA), Osman Mehmedagić, and Court employee Milisav Pijuk, who are charged with several criminal offenses.
Debevec was accused of abuse of position or authority, forgery of an official document, receiving a reward or other form of benefit for trade in influence, unauthorized wiretapping and sound or optical recording, as well as for false representation and violation of the Law on Gender Equality of BiH.
Mehmedagić is charged with falsifying an official document, as well as abuse of position or authority, while Pijuk, together with Debevac, is included in the count of the indictment that charges them with false representation and violation of the Law on Gender Equality of BiH, and the hearing at which they are scheduled to plead guilty is scheduled for October 29.
The day after, on October 30, the sentencing of Ramiz Duraković, accused of crimes against the civilian population in the area of Čajnič in 1993, was scheduled.
Duraković is accused, in his capacity as commander of the 43rd Drina Brigade of the BiH Army, of not taking measures to punish the perpetrators after members of the brigade attacked the positions of the Army of the Republika Srpska on February 14, 1993 in the Pisanica locality and the village of Šapići, in which there were no military targets. According to the amended indictment, one civilian of Serbian nationality was killed in Šapići and two houses were set on fire.
On Friday, October 31, the Prosecutor’s Office will present its closing arguments at the trial of Bora Ivanović, accused of crimes in Foča, reports BIRN BiH.
Ivanović was accused of having, as a member of the Army of Republika Srpska, committed a crime against humanity as part of a wide and systematic attack on the civilian population in Foča, and was accused of repeatedly raping a Bosniak woman in 1992.
