The injured stated that there were more workers in the building when collapsing, Martin added, not stating the exact number of people who are possibly under ruins.
Police and firefighters use drones and dogs to see if someone else is inside the building, located near the opera house and the royal palace of the Spanish capital.
Partial collapse of the five-story building happened inside the building, while the facade remained intact, Martin added.
According to information from the website, the building was rearranged into the hotel.
