The director of the Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs (FUZIP) Ivana Prvulović attended today the intensified supervision of the Federal Veterinary Inspectorate in the area of meat processing and preparation of cured meat products of different assortment in the area of Zenica-Doboj Canton.
The aim of the supervision is to verify the fulfillment of the conditions for the production and processing of products of animal origin, including the quality of the raw materials used in processing, compliance with technological processes, the hygienic correctness of the raw materials and the final product, the method of storage, and the implementation of prescribed laboratory tests.
Products of animal origin that are placed on the market must meet the prescribed quality, be within the valid expiration dates and properly declared, which is extremely important for the protection of consumer health.
“Through these activities of the Federal Veterinary Inspectorate, we protect the health and interests of consumers, in accordance with the provisions of the Food Act, which emphasizes the prevention of misleading practices, falsification of food products and all other actions that can mislead the consumer when purchasing food products. Attendance at inspection inspections is a confirmation of FUZIP’s determination to ensure transparent work and public trust while simultaneously establishing open communication with inspection subjects in order to improve standards and practices in this area and facilitate business,” said director Prvulović.
Controls are carried out on the basis of the Law on Veterinary Medicine in Bosnia and Herzegovina (“Official Gazette of BiH”, No. 34/02), the Law on Veterinary Medicine of the Federation of BiH (“Official Gazette of FBiH”, No. 46/00), the Law on Food (“Official Gazette of BiH”, No. 50/04), the Law on Consumer Protection (“Official Gazette of BiH”, No. 25/2006 and 88/2015), and by-laws adopted on the basis of the aforementioned laws, transmits Zenicablog.
