Agency for identification documents, records and data exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA) launched a new version Open Data Portal (ODP)a modernized platform that provides citizens, researchers, the media, the academic community and the business sector with quick, simple and free access to official statistical data from the registers maintained by the Agency.
The new version of the portal represents a significant step towards greater transparency of the work of public institutions, and it brings users an improved look, faster search, clearer data displays and interactive graphs that facilitate the analysis of available information.
The portal contains statistical data related to the unique identity number of citizens, places of residence and residency, identity cards, travel documents, driver’s licenses, registered motor vehicles, registers of fines and misdemeanors, digital tachograph cards, maritime and shipping certificates, as well as numerous other records managed by the IDDEEA.
A special novelty is the interactive statistical displays that allow users to easily follow various trends. Thus, among other things, it is possible to monitor the number of registered newborns in Bosnia and Herzegovina by days, months and years, as well as other aggregated indicators that provide insight into demographic and administrative trends, while fully respecting the protection of personal data.
All data are available without registration and without compensation, in formats suitable for further analysis, scientific research, application development, production of media content and making informed decisions.
IDDEEA points out that open data is one of the foundations of modern digital administration because it encourages the development of innovations, improves research, enables the development of new digital services and contributes to greater trust of citizens in the work of public institutions.
The development of the new version of the Open Data Portal is part of IDDEEA’s continuous activities on the digital transformation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and harmonization with European standards of open data, transparency and reuse of public sector information.
The agency invited citizens, researchers, universities, non-governmental organizations, media and companies to use the new platform and use the available data to develop new research, analysis, innovation and digital solutions.
