Today, the We Build (Wallets for Business, Supply Chain, and Payments Large-Scale Pilot), one of the largest European initiatives in the field of digital identity. In a consortium that brings together more than 180 institutions and organizations from 27 countries, Bosnia and Herzegovina is the Agency for Identification Documents, Records of BiH (IDDEEA) – the only institution outside the European Union to participate in this prestigious project.
At the General Assembly held in Amsterdam, in front of the Agency, Ilija Trninić, at the same time, and the only representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Non-EU, a member of this great European partnership.
The participation of Iddee BiH in the We Build project is a special moment for our country. Rarely, the BiH State Institution receives the opportunity to be an equal partner in the consortium of this rank, which shapes the future of European digital identity and its application in business, banking, logistics and daily life of citizens. This step forward proves the quality of work and the international recognition of the Agency, but also confirms that Bosnia and Herzegovina can and must be part of the most modern European processes and standards.
For our country, this partnership means direct involvement in the development of solutions that will become the basis of digital services across Europe in the coming years. It is an opportunity to align with best practices and the highest standards, to transfer experiences and knowledge that develops in the EU, and that through IDDEEA becomes an active participant in creating safe and interoperable digital identity.
With this participation of Iddeea BiH, it further confirms its role of the unavoidable institution in the digital transformation of BiH, but also opens the space for Bosnia and Herzegovina, through specific projects and international partnerships, take its place on the European Digital Folder.
