This worrying trend seriously endangers public health, increases treatment costs and indicates the urgent need for education, especially among young people.
According to available data in BiH, there are about 490 people with HIV.
Special attention deserves the fact that the newly-aged patients are the most common young people – both women and men – which further alarms and health and education systems.
The Health Promotion and Prevention Association for Hope’s Districting on HIV and Hepatitis will present more data to open the space for public dialogue on the state of prevention, testing and treatment of HIV infection in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
