Defense Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zukan Helez signed an agreement on bilateral defense cooperation with his Egyptian counterpart Ashraf Zaher on the second day of his official visit to Egypt in Cairo.
Helez met in the Egyptian capital with Colonel General Ashraf Zaher, Minister of Defense and Military Production of the Arab Republic of Egypt. He was welcomed with the highest military and state honors, which was assessed as a confirmation of the friendly relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, the Agreement on bilateral defense cooperation between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt was signed. According to the statement, this is the first such agreement that Bosnia and Herzegovina concluded with an Arab country.
The agreement should open space for the development of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina through the exchange of knowledge and experience, joint training and strengthening of cooperation with one of the most experienced military forces in the region.
