The interlocutors exchanged the attitudes of the political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and expressed the full commitment to keep the current crisis only in the field of policies.
Minister Helez pointed out the need for Bosnia and Herzegovina to strengthen its defense capacities, which is also a trend among EU countries, the Ministry of Defense of BiH was announced.
In this regard, opportunities were considered to, as a country aspirant for EU membership, and the EU’s current initiative Rearm Europe, which are given favorable loans for the modernization of the EU countries until 2030. years.
– In a situation where EU members increase military expenditures, and when we single out only 0.9 percent of GDP, we are more welcome, especially when we have not yet been adopted by the budget for this year – Helez pointed out.
He especially thanked the Ambassador of Soreci in the financial support of the European Instrument for Peace (EPF), which has been donated twice a half million euros for strengthening BiH defense capacities.
He emphasized that for Bosnia and Herzegovina now the priority procurement of two primary navigation radars, which would increase the standards in BiH airspace control, as a further equipping of the Batalj fighter group of easy infantry of the AF BiH.
The Deputy Minister Goganovic pointed out that BiH citizens in particular the role of EUFOR in preserving the country’s stability and noted that the security situation was not compromised. He especially emphasized the strong care of full membership in the EU and that the road does not have an alternative.
Ambassador Soreca stated that the strengthening of the Armed Forces of EU countries showed the necessary after the war in Ukraine and supported the idea of continued to help Bosnia and Herzegovina help in that direction.
He stressed that this can open a new chapter of cooperation between BiH and the EU and that the cohesion of the Armed Forces of BiH is especially important. He expressed hope and that as soon as the laws were adopted soon as the prerequisite to accelerate the path to full membership in the EU.
