A car crashed into a group of people in New Orleans, killing several people, police said.

It all happened on Bourbon Street around 3:15 a.m. local time, reports local TV station WGNO.
The police have not yet specified the exact number of deaths, as well as the severity of the injuries.
An ambulance soon arrived on the scene, and the street is currently closed. So far, the police have not announced anything about the motive of this act, nor whether it might be terrorism.
CBS News reports, citing witness statements, that the truck drove into a crowd on Bourbon Street at high speed, and then the driver got out and started firing a weapon, and police returned fire.
