The defender of the Moroccan national team and Paris St Germain Achraf Hakimi (27) was declared the African footballer of the year at a ceremony in Rabat.
After an exceptional season with the Parisian club, Hakimi won prestigious trophy awarded by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The Moroccan defender celebrated in front of the striker of the Egyptian national team and Liverpool Mohamed Salah, and the striker of the Nigerian national team and Galatasaray Victor Osimhen.
It is a great honor to be here and I am proud to have won such a prestigious trophysaid Hakimi, who won the Champions League, the French Championship and the Cup, and the European Super Cup last season in PSG’s jersey.

The award for the best African club of the year went to Egypt Pyramids led by a Croatian expert Krunoslav Jurčić.
Pyramids became the winners in June this year African Champions League after defeating South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundown in the final. They also won the CAF Super Cup with a win against Morocco’s Berkane, and the FIFA Africa-Asia-Pacific Cup after defeating Saudi Arabia’s Ahly Jeddah.
The award was received at a ceremony in Rabat by the president of the club, Mamdouh Eid, who thanked the coach, the entire staff and the players for the great successes achieved by the Egyptian club, which was founded in 2008.
He was declared the best coach Bubist who qualified for the 2026 World Cup with the Cape Verdean national team.
The best goalkeeper is Moroccan Yassine Bounou (Al-Hilal), and the best young player is Watford’s Moroccan striker Othmane Maamma.
The award for the best player also went to Morocco. She celebrated Ghizlane Chebbak, who was declared the best player of the continent, ahead of her compatriot Sanae Mssoudy and Nigerian Rasheedat Ajibada.
