In the first Sunday match of the 10th round of the HNL, Hajduk players won three points in Pula, beating the home team Istra 1961 with 3-0 (2-0).
The people of Split won in the first half two goal lead. The shooters were Iker Almena in the 22nd minute Michele Šego in the 42nd minute. Everything was concluded when Šego scored his second goal in the 77th for the final 3-0.
Hajduk is thus again at the top of the rankings tied with points Dinamo and those two teams have 22 points each. In 1961, Istria remained in sixth place.
It didn’t take long for passions to swirl at the Aldo Drosina Stadium. It’s five minutes the home team tried in vain for a penalty kickwhile only a minute later Pukštas scored for Hajdukbut the goal was disallowed due to the backfield.
This was followed by the dominance of Hajduk and especially one player, Almena, who was difficult to stop by the home defense. In the 22nd minute, the people of Split took the lead after Hrgović broke through the left side and put Almena on the second post, who scored accurately for Hajduk 1-0.
Almena then had two chances, in the 25th and 28th minutes, after which the score did not change. In the 35th minute, Hajduk created a nice counterattack where Šego passed to Pukštas, who shot while falling, but inaccurately.
By the break, Hajduk had gained a two-goal lead after a goal by Šega in the 42nd minute. Assisted by Rebićand the home team also hoped in vain that the goal would be disallowed due to an alleged foul at the start of the action.
From the beginning of the second part Istria played better in 1961while it was noticeable that the guests were satisfied with the lead and at the same time calmed down their attacking activities. Kadušić and Koski tried unsuccessfully for the hosts in the 53rd minute, while the Pula team had an even better chance in the 63rd minute. Lawal laid the ball down for Agada who was inaccurate from close range.
The duel was definitely broken in favor of the visiting side in the 77th minute when Šego scored his second goal. Bamba played past Pukštas, who hit the goal frame, and Šego was on the deflected ball, who calmly scored for 3-0.
In the 88th minute, Istra 1961 was very close to an honorable goal, but did not get it. From the free kick, Lončar aimed at the frame of the goal.
