This year’s “Global Chain” Code title was realized from 1. to 6. June 2025. years, and the law enforcement agencies and Romania, with the coordination and support of Europol, Frontex and Interpol.
Almost 15,000 officials from 43 different countries participated in the operation, and 158 traffickers were deprived of 158 traffickers and protected 1,194 victims. The focus of the “Global Chain” action was in combating trafficking in human beings for sexual exploitation, forced crime and forced begging.
With the aim of successful implementation of this international operational action in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the period from 2. until 6. in the level of the BiH Police Bodies, the National Coordination Center, which coordinated with overall activities in the area of our country, together with the central coordination center in Warsaw.
Representatives of the competent authorities in BiH, participants in the action, participated in the work of the National Coordination Center.
13 Law Enforcement Agencies in BiH (BiH Corptions of the BiH Police, the BiH Border Police, the MUP of the Tuzla Canton, the MUP of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, the MUP of the Central Bosnia Canton, MUP of the West Herzegovina Canton, the Ministry of the Una Sanska Canton and the Ministry of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton) with the active participation of the Prosecution of BiH and the national contact point for the cooperation between BiH with Europol. All involved bodies were treated in accordance with its scope and legal competencies, with the coordination of activities from the level of the National Coordination Center.
3,220 employees from 13 law enforcement agencies and 195 points on targeted focal points were engaged. Within the above activities, 41,933 persons, 6,318 vehicles, 126 locations and 71 years / airplane are controlled.
Arrested
As a result of these activities, 20 potential victims of trafficking was discovered for the purpose of sexual exploitation, forced begging and forced marriage (Citizen of China, Brazil and BiH). Three people were arrested for the criminal offense of international prostitution and international human trafficking (one citizen of China and two citizens of BiH), while actively working on the detection of all detected crimes and documents of illegal activities. The two yellow elevations of the Interpol and the search of objects at several locations were performed, with objects that can serve as evidence in further proceedings (mobile phones, laptops, personal documents, finished money) and other cases that refer to commit crimes.
During the implementation of the operational action, the protected europol channels, INTERPOL and SELEC, which enabled the rapid and efficient exchange of information and cross-checks at the national and international level.
Based on the preliminary results of the action, at the national level, four new investigations were initiated for criminal offenses related to human trafficking (forced marriage, forced begging, prostitution) and forged documents. At the international level, seven potential investigations involved, including international guidance to prostitution, international trafficking in human beings, counterfeiting documents and human trafficking.
Sexual exploitation
We especially emphasize that two most prominent cases regarding the criminal offense of Prostitution and international trafficking in people for sexual exploitation, within which foreign victims (Chinese and Brazilians) have been utilized from the level of the National Coordination Center Directorate. The first information is divided by foreigners’ service services, after which the Federal Police Administration and the State Investigation and Protection Agency has been involved. Thanks to the rapid reaction and coordinated undertaking of the field, with the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, the potential victims of trafficking and all necessary measures were successfully located in their disposal and collection of evidence.
During the implementation of this operational action, the Directorate once again confirmed its unavoidable coordinating role in the BiH Security Sector, and as a single point of contact for international operational police cooperation.
Director of the Directorate, Enes Karić, expresses the satisfaction with a multiagencic approach within the Action Global Chain and the coordinated work of the law enforcement in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
– Thanks to common efforts, Bosnia and Herzegovina has achieved notable results within this international action and pointed out as a serious partner in the fight against trafficking in the international level – director Karić pointed out.
