The Minister of Finance of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Srđan Amidžić, announced that state employees will receive 1,000 KM compensation in addition to their November salaries.
Yesterday, he spoke with representatives of the Trade Union about the financial position of employees in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and at the meeting, the results so far were summarized and plans for the next period were determined.
“Employees in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina will receive a one-time compensation in the amount of 1,000 KM, which will be paid with the November salary. The unions expressed their gratitude for the cooperation so far and the fact that, at the proposal of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina, all excess funds generated during the year 2025 were directed specifically to the workers,” it was said.
It was agreed to continue joint work on the adoption of amendments to the Law on Wages and Benefits, in order to enable the retroactivity of the payment of salaries and benefits, and so that employees’ incomes would be calculated on the basis of 690.86 KM.
The Ministry of Finance and Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina states that it has provided funds so that employees will receive a basic income of 690.86 KM during 2026.
“Minister Amidžić called on all political actors to be responsible and united, and emphasized that it is inadmissible that issues of the financial position of employees are used as a tool for political conditioning and for populist purposes, which was the case with the recently adopted budget for 2025. At the same time, he emphasized that systemic and well-planned solutions will provide concrete results, income stability and long-term security for all employees in BiH institutions,” the minister’s office stated.
