Dario Gjergja was appointed today as the coach of the men’s basketball team of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In a statement for the official website of KSBiH, he said that after the European Championship, he thought he would dedicate himself only to the club (Limoges), but after talking with the leaders of KSBiH, he decided to take over the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
– It is a great honor and agreement, considering that Bosnia and Herzegovina has a very good team. Now we need to continue on the path where my dear colleague Adis Bećiragić left off. I hope that in the coming period we will achieve results that will be satisfactory, and along the way we will make a selection of new young players, who we will gradually include in the national team. I would also like to thank all the members of the KSBiH Management Board for their trust, and I know what a responsibility it is to be the selector of such a good national team – said Gjergja.
He added that starting today he will start contacting all the players and that he will announce the list soon.
