Due to the connection with crime and evidence from the Sky and Anom applications, the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has so far investigated and indicted around 30 members of law enforcement agencies.
In response to our inquiry, the BiH Prosecutor’s Office stated that due to ongoing investigations, they cannot reveal more details.
“In several cases of organized crime, as well as in cases with evidence from Sky and Anam encrypted applications, the BiH Prosecutor’s Office conducts investigations involving several employees from various police and security agencies in BiH. In the Sky cases, about 30 persons from law enforcement agencies have been treated with investigations and indictments so far,” they stated in their response to Klix.ba.
In the period from 2021 to the end of 2025, the team of prosecutors in charge of “Sky” cases, in close cooperation with police and security agencies throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, conducted about 33 operations, which resulted in the arrest of 175 people.
Jail sentences and multi-million seizure
In the same period, 18 indictments were brought against 105 persons.
Out of 105 accused, 18 pleaded guilty.
One of the most shocking segments is the level of infiltration of organized crime into state institutions and law enforcement agencies, which data show that the investigation included a total of 30 employees of the police and security agencies.
Among the 10 people who have been officially charged so far, there are: police officers of the BiH Border Police (GP BiH), officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska (MUP of RS), officials of the Ministry of Interior of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (MUP of HNK), officials of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton (MUP of KS), a former adviser in the Ministry of Security of BiH and two lawyers.
“Among the suspects are active police officers, including high-ranking officials from various law enforcement agencies, as well as judges and journalists,” the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina stated earlier.
The total duration of the prison sentences handed down so far is 34 years and four months, with individual sentences ranging from one to five years in prison.
In addition to prison sentences, secondary fines were imposed in the total amount of 79,000 KM, while illegally acquired property worth about 42,900 KM and 14,000 euros was directly confiscated.
In the official balance of seized and frozen assets, the following are recorded:
Money was confiscated and accounts were blocked in the total amount of about 6,000,000 KM.
Real estate (multi-million dollar value): The frozen property includes over 109 buildings, including residential and commercial buildings, apartments, houses, land, garages and others.
Luxury watches: Five expensive wristwatches with a value of around 100,000 KM, as well as two extremely valuable watches valued at 615,000 euros, were confiscated.
Vehicles and machines: More than 93 vehicles were confiscated (some of which were valued at more than 200,000 euros), as well as two expensive construction machines.
Narcotics: In addition to financial assets, the police seized 1,670 kg of the intoxicating drug marijuana in these actions.
