Almost two dozen municipalities in France highlighted the Palestinian flag in front of its buildings, contrary to the warning of the Ministry of the Interior, the expected recognition of the Palestinian State by the President Emmanuel Macron.

However, the Minister of Internal Affairs Bruno Retailleau, otherwise the leader of the right-wing Republican Party, ordered the local authorities last week to ban the emphasis on the Palestinian flag.
– The principle of public service neutrality prohibits such demonstrations – the Ministry said, adding that every case of highlighting the flag should be left to the courts.

The flag was already placed in front of the City Hall in Nantu, one of the largest cities in Western France, confirmed the AFP journalist.
In the Paris suburbs, Seine-Saint-Denis was also a ceremony of raising the flag, which was attended by the leader of the Socialist Party Olivier Faura. He sharply criticized the Minister Retaileau command and sent a letter to the Macron President for his withdrawal.
