“We have removed phones from primary schools. We will probably extend this to secondary schools next school year,” Macron said, addressing readers of the Ebra Group newspaper in Mirecourt.
He reaffirmed that Education Minister Edouard Geffray is currently investigating the matter.
“It’s a place where you learn and a place where you communicate,” Macron stressed, further highlighting the rise in loneliness and mental health problems among young people.
When asked to reassure the French about foreign meddling and political disinformation, Macron refused to offer empty reassurance, stressing the need to maintain some concern as the country faces a moment of great turmoil and uncertainty.
“Foreign powers are waging an information war,” he emphasized.
Macron also urged the French to become stronger militarily and technologically.
