France has requested an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council over Israel’s military operations in Lebanon, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barot said.
“Nothing can justify the extension of military operations in Lebanon and the deepening occupation of Lebanese territory,” Baro said in an interview with BFMTV, adding that this is a big mistake for Israel.
Baro called on the United States and Iran to reach an agreement because, as he stated, the current situation is unsustainable.
“We feel the consequences of the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz every day and in general its impact on the global and the French economy. Therefore, this must stop,” Baro said.
