Farewell to Ali Khamenei from July 4 to 9, funeral in Mashhad

Farewell ceremony for Ali Khamenei will be held in Tehran on 4-5. July, and the funeral on July 9 in Mashhad, according to Iranian state media.

The program will include a farewell ceremony in the capital Tehran on July 4 and 5. After that, commemorations will be held in Tehran on July 6, and in Qom on July 7.

On July 9, Khamenei will be buried in the shrine of Imam Reza in Mashhad.

Ali Khamenei was killed in the US-Israeli strikes on Iran that began on February 28.

A number of high-ranking Iranian military commanders and state officials were also killed in those attacks.

A Pakistan-brokered ceasefire came into effect on April 8, and efforts to reach a broader agreement have continued since then.
