This year, the Federal Ministry of Education and Science provided significant support to the development of science in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, through (co)financing of various programs and projects that contribute to the improvement of scientific research, the popularization of science, and the strengthening of scientific infrastructure.
In total, more than 1.4 million convertible marks were set aside for this purpose, whereby the Ministry confirms its commitment to continuously invest in the progress of science and the creation of a more favorable environment for scientific and research activities.
“Through public calls in the field of science, we tried to further strengthen the scientific potential of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, providing support to researchers, institutions and organizations that contribute to the development of knowledge, innovation and social progress. It is especially important for us that the scope of the program shows the breadth of support – from the popularization of science and the publication of journals to the financing of research and the training of young scientists. Our goal is to create an environment in which science will have a strong social role and be recognized as a driver of development”, said Minister Prof. Ph.D. Jasna Durakovic.
Support covers a wide range of areas – from the popularization of science and the strengthening of library funds, through scientific training at doctoral and postdoctoral studies, to the publication of reference domestic journals and the organization of scientific meetings in the country and abroad. Special attention is directed to the co-financing of research work, specializations and study stays, which provide young researchers with additional knowledge and international cooperation.
The Ministry provided support and patronage to science-popular projects and scientific and professional manifestations that contribute to bringing science closer to the general public, as well as publishing scientific and science-popular publications that spread the results of domestic research.
Also, this year, the Ministry will support scientific research projects of importance for the Federation of BiH with about 2 million KM, whose evaluation is carried out by the Science Council.
Through this kind of comprehensive support, the Federal Ministry of Education and Science confirms its commitment to creating a stable and stimulating framework for the development of science, strengthening research capacities and connecting the scientific community with society and the economy, reports Radio Sarajevo.
