According to German media, the event took place on Tuesday, May 26, at the main train station in Munich. While a 33-year-old woman from Bosnia and Herzegovina was entering Regional-Express 16, a man approached her from behind and, according to the police, touched her inappropriately.
The woman immediately contacted the emergency services, so police officers waited for the train upon arrival in Ingolstadt around 1:15 p.m. A 46-year-old citizen of Ukraine was then identified and detained.
After police procedures and interrogation, the suspect was released to defend himself.
An investigation was opened against him on suspicion of sexual harassment, while the citizen of BiH officially reported the incident to the competent authorities.
According to the information so far, the Ukrainian citizen had no previous violations and was not registered in police bases in Germany.
