As many as 1,200 people had to be evacuated from the Eiffel Tower after a fire broke out at the iconic Parisian landmark on Tuesday, writes Newsweek.
French police told local media that flames were spotted in the elevator shaft between the first and second floors. For now, there is no official information about possible injuries, while the fire brigades are working intensively to rehabilitate the situation.
