On Sunday, November 30, 2025, after the prayer in the mosque in Dobropolje-Mekiš, the mevlud was recited, and the waqifs who contributed significantly to the renovation of the mosque were presented with waqf names.
The Mevlud was recited by the imams of the Majlis of the Tešanj Islamic Community, and the congregational imam Suljo-ef addressed the audience with suitable speeches. Djedoić, chief imam of the Majlis from Tešanj, mr. Fuad-ef. Omerbašić and director of the Vakuf Directorate, Hafiz dr. Senaid-ef. Zaimović, who is at the end of his mandate.
The ceremony was held on the occasion of the completion of extensive works on the restoration and decoration of the mosque. Numerous procedures were carried out: the exterior facade and complete interior decoration, including painting, calligraphy and painting of the mosque, were done. A new mimber and jurs were built, a parapet was installed, a new mat of 361 m² was purchased, the heating system was renovated and a heat pump was installed. A new side door was installed, a meeting room was decorated and equipped, a restaurant was renovated with a new kitchen, and the mosque was connected to the city’s water supply.
A total of people participated in the restoration action 425 congregationswhich they collected together 111,821 KM. The waqifs who donated 1,000 KM each, and who were presented with waqf names at the ceremony, were especially highlighted. The mosque in Dobropolje-Mekiš was built in the period from 1999 to 2006, in a place where there was no mosque before. With over 800 m² of usable area, it is one of the largest in the area of the Majlis of the Tešanj Islamic Community. It was officially opened in 2006, and this year’s works mark its comprehensive renovation and improvement.
