“The weather is nice and the sea is warm. Last weekend we had the opening of the summer tourist season and a big concert by Sergej Ćetković, where several thousand people gathered. We are satisfied with the beginning of the summer tourist season. Expectations are good. We have reason for optimism. Now, with the end of the school year in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the arrival of guests from Bosnia and Herzegovina, who are our main guests in the seventh and eighth months, will increase. Now the number of groups of foreign guests who usually come in the pre-season and post-season is decreasing,” he says.
What do the first results of the summer season in Neum show?

“Accommodation prices vary depending on whether it is private or hotel accommodation. In the main season, the price of an apartment for four people is 150 to 250 KM per night, but that also depends on the location. The price of a room in hotel accommodation in high season is from 200 KM and up per person. And that depends on the service, i.e. what is included in the price,” he points out.
Why are guests booking later than in previous years?
Darijo Maslać, director of sales and marketing of the hotel “Vapore”, confirmed that the prices are slightly higher, but not significantly, who points out that accommodation reservations started a little, spontaneously.
“Through conversations with our regular guests, we see that a dose of fear has crept in due to global trends because you never know what will happen. It is for these reasons that people do not book as far in advance as they are used to, or as much as we, hoteliers, would like it to be. They are probably waiting for the ‘last minute’ to see what will happen, if everything will be okay, and only then will they make reservations. We, hoteliers, can hope that the weather will be okay,” he says.
Who currently visits Neum the most?
According to him, there are currently tourists from Western European countries in Neum.
“These are mostly people of the third age who are exploring not only Neum, but also the rest of Bosnia and Herzegovina and our neighboring tourist centers such as Pelješac, Dubrovnik, Montenegro… There are no big bounces. We still don’t know what will happen with the main summer season when individuals come to us. We hope everything will be fine,” Maslać told “Nezavisne Novine”.
