In the second semi-final of the European Handball Championship, the Danish national team defeated Iceland with a score of 31:28 (14:13) and qualified for the final.
Icelanders played an excellent game against the favored Danes, especially in the first half. At one point they had and three goal lead (6:3).
We went on vacation with minimal leadership Denmark (14:13), and in the sequel, however, the hosts’ longer bench came to the fore.
In the middle of the second half, Denmark took a three-goal advantage (23:20) and the Danes held that advantage until the end of the match.
Mathias Gidsel with 7 goals, without a miss, he led his national team to victory, while the Icelanders’ first scorer was Janus Dadi Smrason with 8 goals.
The Danes will on Sunday have the opportunity to become the second national team that managed to hold at the same time European, worldwide and Olympic title. Earlier, France managed to do the same, and on two occasions.
