Gemila Talic Gabriel, one of the most prominent members of the Bosnian Wales, a member of numerous governmental and non-governmental Australian organizations, which once served the honorary consolation of our country, 11. This year, the 30th anniversary of the genocide against Bosniaks in Srebrenica is celebrated. The Talic Gabriel as a member of the UN Australian women, attended the commemoration and burial of the remains of innocent suffered in genocide.
– Today we are here at the point of memory and the place of huge pain, not only for us Bosniaks, but for every honest and good man on this planet. We sympathize in silence with families killed in the largest crime committed in Europe after World War II. Gemila is one of the survivors of war victims in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which found refuge and salvation from his horrors in Australia. It is a great humanitarian, sponsors and helps many collectives and individuals, and advocates the rights and protection of victims from all forms of violence. Last year, she was lobbyed and appealed to Australian and UN officials when voting the resolution on Srebrenica genocide.
– By who knows which time I will point out that Srebrenica is a living wound of all Bosnians and Herzegovinians, no matter where they live. It is our obligation to remind you of the horror of Srebrenica, not just today, but every day and wherever you are. Also, to learn new generations about the mistakes of the past, as they never again and anyone would repeat. The UN General Assembly last year by adopting the resolution, which 11. July declares an international memory of the genocide in Srebrenica, did a big step. It is sad that denial and relativization of crimes still remain unpunished, digging and deepening the early mourners. That is why we must insist in our commitment to justice, the truth and peace to win. And he hoped that the conscience, empathy and humanity will wake up, and that Srebrenica will receive a permanent place in the European culture of memory – he pointed out the end of Talic Gabriel.
