The Tourist Board of the Zenica-Doboj Canton participates for the first time as an exhibitor at the “International Tourism Fair and Congress” TTI Izmir, which takes place from December 3 to 5 in Izmir, Turkey.
TTI Izmir (Tourism Trade International Expo and Congress) is the largest tourism platform in Turkey, held for the 19th time, and the fair brought together leading experts from the tourism industry and more than 280 exhibitors from Asia to America and the Balkan countries. It is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, and is hosted by Izmir City Municipality.
The delegation of the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton, led by Prime Minister Nezir Pivić, and consisting of Ministers of Economy Samir Šibonjić, Ministers of Finance Dženan Čišija, Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Jasmin Čajić and Director of the Tourist Board Šaban Ibrišimović, is also present at the fair.
– In addition to strengthening the economy, which is the engine of economic development of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the State of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the ZDK government also devoted itself to strengthening tourism. Such fairs are an excellent opportunity to promote tourism potential and our plans in the tourism sector, but also an opportunity to make very important contacts with agencies and institutions and send an invitation and message for tourists to visit our canton, which really has a lot to offer them – said Prime Minister Pivić.
He cited the fact that the number of overnight stays by foreign tourists in this canton in 2025 has increased by as much as 48.5 percent, which speaks of the momentum of tourism in the Zenica-Doboj canton, but also the good effects of the measures and activities undertaken by the Government and the Tourist Board.
In his address at the opening of the fair, Minister of Economy Samir Šibonjić invited exhibitors and visitors to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina, stressing that tourism in our country is on the rise, and that one of the destinations should be numerous tourist attractions in the Zenica-Doboj Canton, such as medieval fortresses and towns in the valley of the Bosna River, stone balls near Zavidovići, pyramids in Visoko, and numerous other tourist destinations.
– Tourism is becoming an increasingly important branch of the economy, which has an excellent perspective in our canton and increasingly contributes to the excellent economic results of our canton. In the first half of 2025, we achieved industrial production growth of 10.4%, export coverage of 95.7% and wage growth of 19.4%, which shows that we have rightly become the engine of economic development – said Minister Šibonjić.
The Minister of Finance, Dženana Čišija, expressed satisfaction with the performance of the ZDK Tourist Board at this fair and the opportunity to present the tourism potential of Turkey, from which a large number of tourists come to our country every year.
-Participation in the fair is another confirmation of the friendship between our countries and the strengthening of traditionally good mutual relations – said Čišija.
The Tourist Board of the Zenica-Doboj Canton was founded in 2022, and this year it started functioning at full capacity. It participates in significant tourism fairs in the wider region, and at the end of last month they presented their tourism potential at the 56th International Tourism Fair in Novi Sad, where they won the Grand Gold Medal for their contribution to the development of tourism in this canton.
