IDO I Feel Dance, I Feel Slovenia – World Hip Championship started yesterday in Ljubljana hop, popping, breaking and hip hop battles 2025, where 4,700 dancers from 38 countries, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, are registered. Some countries, such as Taiwan and the Philippines, are participating for the first time.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina national team has 159 dancers from different clubs from Sarajevo, Tuzla, Banja Luka, Pala and Sokoc.
The parade of nations has been announced for tomorrow, where among the other participants, our national team members will parade under the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Dancing Dragons and Dragons perform in several categories – from solo performances to group formations from 7 to 24 in a group – in the disciplines of hip hop and popping.
Departure of BiH team to the world championship is the result of the joint work of dance clubs, parents, coaches and enthusiasts who have been investing efforts in the development of this dance scene in Bosnia and Herzegovina for years.
– We are a kind of golden middle, considering that all this is financed by the parents, we have no support and investments. This year, for the first time, municipalities gave something to individuals, national champions, something symbolic, as funding. But when you work with children, everything else is less important – said Edina Lubarda, head of the Dance Center “Just Dance”, which has been the most trophy-winning dance club in our country for almost a decade.
This dance club is known for another specificity, it also has a dance group of fathers of children “Just Dance Dads”, who also dance hip-hop, which is why they are unique, not only in our country.
We are talking about fathers who have been training hard together with their daughters for a long time, supporting them and cheering them on at competitions, but they themselves are fighting on the dance floor, even though they have never been involved in this type of sport before.
By winning the gold medal at the National Championship in Zenica, “Just Dance” qualified for this championship in Ljubljana. The other clubs also had to have good results at the national level. Months of preparation are behind them to represent their country in a worthy way.
Speaking about the expectations from our participants at this world competition, Lubarda said that many things affect the dance, that is, the final result.
– We have, for example, for last year the soloist Ema Paldum, who is 12th in the world. She was fifth in Europe the year before. I expect from her, for example, the final – said Lubarda.
The Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Slovenia, Dario Novalić, visited our young national team members and their parents and, with the support of As Holding, presented them with appropriate gifts and wished them happiness and success.
Ljubljana will be the real dance center of the world for seven days. The team from Bosnia and Herzegovina will stay until Tuesday, October 28.
