A group of fans of the Croatian football team was attacked on Sunday evening on the road between Budva and Cetinje, Montenegrin media reported, citing unofficial sources from the police.
A journalist from Podgorica’s Antena M radio from Cetinje reported that Croatian fans are in Cetinje police stationbut that none was ready to give more information.
That media reports that in front of the police station there is a van with split registrations with visibly broken glass and other damages.
Allegedly, the fans reported to the Cetinje police that on the main road, in a place they could not precisely identify, an unknown group blocked the wayafter which the windows and mirrors of their vehicles were broken with iron bars.
A little earlier, the Montenegrin police announced that is ready to welcome the match between Montenegro and Croatiawhich the Montenegrin Football Association declared a high-risk match.
They stated that on Monday, numerous streets near the stadium in Podgorica, where the match will be played, will be closed, and that drones will be used to film fans during and after the match, in the stadium, in the surrounding area and in the city itself.
Regarding the arrival and departure of away fans measures are being taken which refer to the control of persons at border crossings and the adequate implementation of police activities in connection with the stay of these persons on our territory, the Montenegrin police announced.
The match Montenegro – Croatia will be played on Monday from 20:45 at the city stadium in Podgorica.
