In recent days, news appeared in the media that the legendary Croatian fighter Mirko Filipović could return to the ring against the legendary Russian fighter Fedor Emelianenko.
In an interview with Dnevnik Nova TV, Cro Cop gave his opinion on the subject.

He also revealed the details of the answer:
His people contacted Orsat Zovko, my friend who brought me back to Japan, and they wanted to boxing exhibition match. Fedor said yes no can do more MMA because of possible injuries and the talks started. That’s how the talks started and in the end we agreed. It should have been at the beginning of the year, I signed the agreement in the second month. At that moment they had seven arenas in Japan, from Saitama, Yokohama, Tokyo Dome and four other larger halls.
But then a problem occurred.
Feodor put his signature only in the sixth monthbut by then we had lost all the arenas. The first arena in Japan is available in August next year. We didn’t talk when or where, he only said he wanted a boxing match. If the opportunity arises, I see no reason not to.

I’ve only had a couple of months off since my breakup. After that I went back to training. I am the main sparring partner of Matej (Batinić op.a.) and the other guys. I enjoy it. Tonight we will also do hard training, that’s how I train.
You are 51 today and Fedor is 49. Is that too old for a serious match?
I go for regular check-ups twice a year. When the discussions about the match heated up, I went to the examination. I went to the magnet about 20 days ago, which showed that I am healthy. No professional sport is healthy, especially contact martial arts. It’s light strokes that I do, but every stroke is trauma to the brain. When a man is more prepared, it falls easier for him. But I can do one exhibition match. It is not yet known how many rounds we will box, how long they will last, what size the gloves will be, nothing is known yetunderlined Mirko.
