Savo Milošević resigned from the position of head of the coaching staff of FK Željezničar, and on that occasion together with director Haris Slato addressed the public.
Savo Milošević said that he had been thinking about this decision for weeks.
I will briefly explain that decision. She did not, as I said, come overnight.
In accordance with what I discussed with the management at the beginning, before I came to FK Željezničar, we had an agreement on long-term cooperation and the project that was supposed to raise this club to a higher level in the coming period. That was the biggest reason why I agreed to enter a very delicate and difficult moment for the club and try to remedy the situation by June, and then start working on a new project from June. Milošević began.
As the now former coach of the club from Grbavica claims, they came quickly towards the end of the season and towards the beginning of the new one, and neither he nor the people from the club can concretely plan anything from June.
It becomes pointless to continue cooperation. First of all, I have to think about my futureand the club itself must find solutions, which, I assume, will be very difficult in the coming period. The director will also speak about this a little later.
I must say that I am extremely sorry for all this, because it was really my intention, and the director can confirm this, to work here for the long term. Such was the plan and project. I sincerely believed that it could be accomplishedregardless of the obstacles we all have in this area, and that it is possible to create a quality system and return FK Željezničar to its rightful place in Bosnian football, and in the region as well.
Unfortunately, this time too, some things got in the way we will not be able to implement that planor at least I won’t. It remains for me to sincerely thank everyone for their cooperation, starting with Mr. Mirvić. Harris was with us for three months and can testify to the kind of period we went through in order to bring the club to at least some stability. I think we succeeded in that.
It is a satisfaction for me personally, but also for all the people in the club. Given the difficulties we encountered in the previous period, we managed to overcome all that and bring the club to a safe zone. This gives me great pleasure, because everything would be much more difficult if we were still in a difficult situation. This is how I can say that I managed to do what I promised when I became the coach of FK Željezničar.
At the end, Savo Milošević thanked the management, the people in the club and the small number of operatives who were with them, but primarily the players, who carried the biggest burden in an extremely difficult period.
Believe me, the situation we found the team in, psychologically, mentally and physically, was extremely difficult. The boys managed to do it with character and a huge willbeyond their realistic capabilities.
We owe them a lot of gratitude, because if we hadn’t taken the right path then, everything would have been much more complicated and difficult. I also thank the coaching staff, the medical team and all the people around the team. Everyone did their best to move everything in the right direction. I am grateful to every person who, in the past three months, did their best to come out into the light of day, Milošević said.
He especially highlighted the fans of this club.
It’s hard to explain, but these are really special fans. I have played in many clubs and all the fans say they are the best and the biggest, but these are special. Regardless of the situation, the state of the rankings and the state of the team, they were with us honestly and unreservedly. Considering the results, that pressure could have been much greater and more difficult. We were lucky that the fans recognized the situation and supported us both at home and away.
It helped us a lot to overcome all the problems. The railwayman really has special fans. Finally, I want to thank all the people of Sarajevo who welcomed me here in a really special way. I partly expected it, but in some situations I was also surprised. That makes me even more sorry. It would be an honor and a pleasure for me to stay living in Sarajevo and work in this club. But, well, maybe on another occasion. Unfortunately, the reason for this address is not nice, he added.
Harris Slato he added that he was very disappointed by this decision of coach Sava Milošević, but that he fully understood it
The problem that burdens our club is the statutewhich is still not resolved. That is why I express great regret that our coach is leaving, although we had serious plans for him to stay here, work and help us develop the club. The coach came to, as he himself said, the most delicate moment for our club.
I think it was one of the most difficult periods in the history of the Railwaymen. Therefore, many thanks to the coach, you, Nenad and Branko for coming and managing to raise us to a higher level, achieve victoriesto score goals and finally win the stay, so that our club would not be in the danger zone. In the past three months, we have done everything in our power, both administratively and organizationally, to unfreeze the processes that had been started.
I am even more disappointed because I know how much effort we put in, both economically and in terms of sports, to progress. You saw that last week we were together in Hrasnica, where we considered the potential possibilities of moving our sports development segment and the development of the sports academy.
However, all that is now being called into question. I am especially sad because I know how much effort we have invested in all these segments in the last two months, and now I have to say that the entire strategic partnership project has been brought to the very edge of failure. That is why I am making my mandate available from today, together with coach Savo Milosevic. We will decide on my future in the next day or two, together with the other members and governing bodies of the club, after which we will provide more information, it was announced from FK Željezničar.
