The Prosecutor’s Office of the Tuzla Canton announced today new horrific details of the pimping of minors from the Tuzla Home for Neglected Children who were recruited and pimped into prostitution by the arrested members of the MUP of the TK in the area of this canton.
A total of eight people were arrested, and as it was discovered, the arrested Zijad Jagodić (61), Sulejman Šehić (67) and Nedim Avdić (41) are suspected of using their sexual services and paying them for it in the mentioned period, even though they were aware that they were underage girls and victims of human trafficking.
Transported to different locations
The arrested police officers Besim Kopić (51), Miralem Halilović (46), Jasmin Modrić (30) and Dževad Požegić (55) are suspected of having recruited, led, transported to different locations in the Kalesija, Živinice and Srebrenik areas, handed them over to other persons and hid two fifteen-year-old girls for the purpose of exploitation through prostitution and other forms of sexual exploitation, from April 2024 to the end of July 2025. and they also used their sexual services for which they were paid.
“Part of the money from sexual services, which the girls were forced to have with other people, was taken by the first suspect, Besim Kopić,” it is stated.
The report learns that Šemsudin Kadrić, who was hiding two 15-year-old girls with the policemen, is a waiter in the Febi cafe, who is linked to the arrested Kopić, otherwise the chief of the Kalesija police station. This bar operated on a half-board basis, where girls were brought and pimped.
We learn that Zijad Jagodić, Sulejman Šehić and Nedim Avdić paid from 150 KM upwards for sex with minors. In some cases the amount was much higher. Kopić took the money for himself.
The suspects took advantage of their escape
“These are two girls whose development was hampered by difficult family circumstances and who were housed in social institutions in the Tuzla area, as well as the shelter of the Home for Children without Parental Care Tuzla, from where they ran away several times and were returned by police officers and centers for social work. The suspects took advantage of their escape from the institutions and their state of helplessness in order to recruit them and induce them to engage in prostitution and use their sexual services,” says the Turkish Prosecutor’s Office.
They face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
