Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of Zenica-Doboj Canton filed criminal charges against DM Serious crimes against the safety of public transportand the indictment was fully confirmed on June 25, 2026 by the judge for the preliminary hearing of the Municipal Court in Tešnje.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the traffic accident occurred on January 9, 2026 at around 00:30 on the M-17 highway, in the Doboj Jug municipality.
The indictment accuses the DM of driving a passenger car from the direction of Zenica towards Doboj carelessly and insufficiently carefully, and that in conditions of reduced visibility due to darkness and fog, he focused his attention on the conversation with the passenger, instead of the traffic and the intersection with the roundabout.
As stated, after entering the roundabout, he did not follow the path of the road, but continued moving in a straight line across the snow-covered green area in the center of the roundabout, where he hit a metal fluorescent panel placed on the roundabout.
As a result of the violent impact, the passenger DA received a serious injury in the form of a fracture of the right upper arm bone, while material damage was caused to the traffic equipment.
The Prosecution believes that the accused, by not complying with traffic safety regulations, negligently endangered public traffic and caused an accident in which one person was seriously injured, for which he is charged with a criminal offense Serious crimes against the safety of public transport.
