Last night’s heavy rainfall brought problems for the residents of several places in Bosnia and Herzegovina, among them the area of Fojnica, where the level of rivers and streams rose.
There, due to heavy rainfall, the bridge over the Fojnica river collapsed in the town of Pločari Polje, which leads to the village of Stari Pločari. As we were told by the Fojnica Civil Protection, this place borders the municipality of Kiseljak and is currently cut off due to this incident.
The river Željeznica (Gvožđanka) overflowed its banks in the areas of the settlements of Luke, Bakovići, Gojevići and Lužine, causing damage to yards and meadows.
On the route Trošnjik – Bakovići, a torrential stream brought a large amount of gravel onto the road, but the sediment was removed with a quick reaction, and the road was undermined and a landslide also occurred on the section of the road Poroj – Čemernica, and passage along this road is risky, Fojnica said today.
The river Fojnica, downstream from the settlement of Alaupovka, overflowed its bed in several places, while landslides occurred at two locations, between the settlements of Luke and Bilići. Work is being done on rehabilitation and removal of materials to make the road to Dusina passable.
The Municipality of Fojnica announced that the water at the springs has become cloudy, and the users of the public utility company “Šćona” are being asked not to consume it because it is not suitable for drinking.
Heavy rainfall caused floods and brought problems in Central Bosnia Canton. Problems with flooded buildings were recorded in Donji Vakuf, Bugojno, Kreševo and Kiseljak, writes Klix.
