ONK Metković announced on their Facebook page a dramatic post with text and photos in which they write about the attack on their players after the match in Orebić.
We transmit the announcement in its entirety:
After the match between NK Orebić and ONK Metković, we witnessed one of the of the most unacceptable and shameful events on our football fields. Instead of sporting greetings and respect, our players were met with violence that represents a serious threat to the safety of the participants and a complete degradation of the sport.
Immediately after the referee’s final whistle our players were brutally attacked Ivan Šutalo, Ante Bačić and Marko Andačić, as confirmed by the attached photos.
It is particularly scandalous that in the president of NK Orebić was involved in the physical confrontation, Ante Kordicwho entered the game in the second half, who should be a person who should be an example of sportsmanship. Instead, he sneakily attacked Ivan Šutal from behind, and him bit the eyethereby setting off a chain reaction of violence. Sutal was then attacked by Ivan Kordić and several players from NK Orebić, as well as a group of about 20 people who ran from the stands.
Our doorman Ante Bacicwho only tried to protect his teammate from further beatings, got hit a fist to the head from Jakov Petričević, also a player of NK Orebić. Marko Andačić was also attacked, and he also suffered a bite.
This raw, coordinated violence is completely unacceptable and represents serious shame not only for the perpetrators, but also for every sports team that tolerates or tries to minimize this kind of behavior. Sport is not and must never be a scene of savagery.
We expect a decisive and clear reaction from the competent authorities, because without responsibility there is neither safety nor sporting integrity. ONK Metković will not remain silent in the face of such barbarism.
Despite everything, we want to praise Hrvoja Kapitelia and Hrvoja Rikala from NK Orebićwho were the only ones who showed sense and tried to stop the escalation together with ONK Metković coach Tomislav Plećaš, president Nikola Manenica and a large number of our players.

After the game it happened serious incident in which some of our players showed shameful and unacceptable behavior. We would like to send our sincere apologies to the players, coach and management of ONK Metković and wish them the best of luck in the rest of the season. it is stated in the announcement of NK Orebić.
