This weekend, Čapljina will become the center of mountain biking in Southeast Europe. The Balkan Mountain Biking Championship (XCO Gradina Classic 2026), one of the most important sporting events this year in Herzegovina, is being held at the Bodenik – Trebižat site.
The competition will gather the best cyclists from the Balkan countries who will fight for the titles of Balkan champions, but also for valuable points of the international cycling federation through the UCI C1 race.
The program starts at Saturday, June 13when there are races for the youngest competitors, recreational players and amateurs. The organizers especially invite families, children and all sports fans to visits to Gradin and support young cyclists who will have the opportunity to show their skills on a specially prepared track.
The best mountain bikers arrive in Gradina
The main competition day is Sunday, June 14when from 10:00 am the races of the Balkan Championship and the UCI C1 competition begin. They expect an audience attractive duels top athletes on a technically demanding track that has been attracting the region’s best drivers for years.
The organization of such an event once again confirms the status of Čapljina and Herzegovina as a recognizable cycling and cycle tourism destination and represents an important promotion of the city and the region at the international level.
We invite all citizens of Čapljina, Herzegovina and surrounding towns to visit Gradina during the weekend, support the competitors and be part of the sporting event which brings the best mountain bikers of the Balkans to our city, the organizers announced.
