According to a statement from the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), the fire engulfed the entire building and spread to the surrounding vegetation, creating smaller fires.
“Firefighters acted defensively with the aim of protecting the surrounding buildings and preventing the fire from spreading to the bushes,” the announcement stated.
The fire was extinguished after the intervention of more than 50 firefighters and no injuries were reported. The fire spread to the vegetation and caused damage to neighboring buildings, and the damage assessment has not yet been determined.
