The Agency for Identification Documents, records and exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA) calls all citizens on responsible behavior in planning or renovating personal documents, passports and driving licenses.
Despite multiple public appeals and the availability of information through all official channels, a large number of citizens decide to submit a request for the issuance of documents only in the last days of validity of existing documents – or even after expiration. Such behavior often leads to crowding, extending the waiting deadlines and increased pressure on the officers of the competent authorities.
This pattern of behavior must not become socially acceptable. It is necessary to change the culture of relations according to their own obligations, because the consequences of irresponsibility is not only borne by an individual, but also a wider community.
We remind the citizens:
- The documents can be renewed at the earliest six months before the expiration of the validity.
- Early requirements enable faster processing, avoiding crowds and stress reduction.
- Some documents are not an obstacle to your travel, enrollment, employment or exercise of rights.
- Through the e-IDDEEA mobile application, citizens can monitor the status of the document in a timely manner, get notifications and facilitate the entire process.
We appeal to parents to take care of the deadlines for validity of their children’s documents, as well as all planned activities – travel, applications, competitions – harmonize with the validity of identification documents.
IDDEEA, together with the competent MUPs, is continuously working on system improvement, increasing efficiency and availability of services to citizens. But the responsibility is always individual, and it starts on time.
